This Week in  Kindergarten Literacy                            ABC… We Did It! 🎉 What a wonderful milestone! Our kindergarteners have officially finished learning all the letters of the alphabet! From A for apple to Z for zebra, they've explored each letter with songs, stories, crafts, and lots of hands-on fun. It's been an exciting journey watching them recognize letters, learn their sounds, and start putting them together to form words.  This is more than just finishing the ABCs — it's the next step in their reading and writing adventures! Numeracy                                                         This week, our kindergarteners became little data collectors as they explored the world of graphs and polls with a fun class activity — finding out their...

This Week in  Kindergarten Literacy  Letter Qq - Quilt  We enjoyed reading the story "The Quilt" by Tony Johnson. Friends shared that some of them also have quilts that were made for them by special people, often relatives and family friends. After reading the story about Abigails quilt, students were given the task of designing their own unique quilt. Their quilts are made up of unique squares that reflect their likes, special places and important people. "I drew the Calgary Tower!" - L.  "I drew the ocean and sunshine" - J. Our first community is typically our family, then our school and other groups we are part of. We started talking about our physical community of Calgary and the neighbourhoods we live in.         This Week in Kindergarten                       Literacy  It is such a magical time of year in Kindergarten where we see progress come in leaps and bounds. While progress looks different for each student, it is celebrated equally! As we are approaching the final set of alphabet letters, we took time to celebrate the alphabet and how far we have come in learning about it this year! Way to go Kindergarten! Pink Shirt Day   This year, Pink Shirt Day, or Anti-Bullying Day, was on February 22. This year's theme,  Lift Each Other Up , was centred around the ideas of diversity, inclusion and acceptance. We take this day to come together by wearing pink shirts to school to show our solidarity in speaking up against bullying. In Kindergarten we each made a pink shirt day promise, a way we would show kindness to others.  Book Fair!  Ramsay school book fair is coming up next week (March...
