 This Week in Kindergarten

Literacy

                          ABC… We Did It! 🎉

What a wonderful milestone! Our kindergarteners have officially finished learning all the letters of the alphabet! From A for apple to Z for zebra, they've explored each letter with songs, stories, crafts, and lots of hands-on fun.

It's been an exciting journey watching them recognize letters, learn their sounds, and start putting them together to form words. This is more than just finishing the ABCs — it's the next step in their reading and writing adventures!

Numeracy

This week, our kindergarteners became little data collectors as they explored the world of graphs and polls with a fun class activity — finding out their classmates' favourite fruit!

With clipboards and tally marks in hand, they walked around the room asking their friends, "What’s your favourite fruit?" It was a great way to practice speaking, listening, counting, and even early math skills like comparing numbers.

Field Trip

Our kindergarten class had an enchanting field trip to the Little Red Reading House in Inglewood, a cozy, two-storey heritage home brimming with books and imagination. Designed to inspire a love of reading, the house offers themed rooms, quiet reading nooks, and even a creative Maker Space. Each child was delighted to pick out a free book to take home, fostering a sense of ownership and excitement about reading.
