  This Week in Kindergarten                     Literacy          Letter Cc has two sounds "hard c" as in "cat" or "soft c" as in city.  Each week students explore letters in a variety away to develop a deeper understanding and knowledge of the formation, name and sound of each letter. One of our entry activities weekly is free choice drawings inspired by our letter of the week. This Week in Kindergarten                     Literacy               Letter Oo & Dd  We love reading stories that highlight the letters we are learning about. One of our favourite weekly traditions is reading the AlphaTales book in search of the items that have the letter of the week hidden within.                 Numeracy        Dice Games have so many benefits for Kindergarten friends... Math Skills : Dice games help kids develop basic math concepts, like counting, addition, and sometimes subtraction.         This Week in Kindergarten   Welcome back! I hope everyone had an enjoyable winter break with many memories made. It was nice to get back into routines this week.              .   We welcomed the return to school and the new calendar year with stories, art and writing. We read the story "Squirrel's New Years Resolution". We talked about what resolution (personal goal) students would like to achieve this year. We painted fireworks to honour some of the traditions people have around the beginning of the new year. There were so many beautiful bursts of colour!                  Grade 3 Buddies    We spent Friday morning with our Buddy class, Mrs. Jackson's Grade 3 friends.
