  This Week in Kindergarten

Remembrance Day

.

Kindergarten friends spent time this week talking about the significance of Remembrance Day. We learned a new poem titled " Little Poppy". Students learned to recite it and we used it to look for familiar letters and to talk about word boundaries and more! We discussed symbols of Remembrance, such as the poppy, wreaths and ceremonies.
Alphabet Recap

We are off to a great start with our alphabet exploration. We have explored letters Aa,Ss,Pp and Tt. In Kindergarten we explore letters by learning proper mouth position to make the corresponding letter sound, singing songs, learning proper letter formation, games, journal work and more.
You could ask your child these questions about each letter:
- What is the name of this letter ___ ?
- What sound(s) does this letter make?
- Can you tell me a word that has the ___ sound at the beginning?
- Can you find the letter ___ on this page (of a story book)
