This Week in Kindergarten
RAINBOW DAY
We had a lot of fun finish off our colour days in Kindergarten! We carried out a science experiment with Skittles & Hot water, can your child tell you what happened when we put hot water on the plate with the Skittles? Students also participated in a classroom colour sort challenge as well as a colour scavenger hunt around the school. We got to go all the way up-stairs to look for colours all around our school! Thank you families for participating in Colour Days, it was a great way to start the year.
Orange Shirt Day
Thank you to friends who wore their orange shirts today to show support and recognition of Truth and Reconciliation day that took place on September 30th. Kindergarten read the story "With Our Orange Hearts" written by Phyliss Webstad, the lady whose story inspired the orange shirts we wear today. We also coloured drawings by indigenous art Hawlii Pichette and spent time on the land discussing our emotions in a sharing circle. We will continue our learning on the land throughout the year and look forward to sharing more with families.Next week in Kindergarten:
