                 This Week in Kindergarten                      Literacy              The Gingerbread Man We had a Gingerbread Man show up in our classroom after Ms.Cavanaugh read the story on Monday. We spent time asking the Gingerbread Man questions and talking about what makes a good question. Some question might start with words like , "do" , "can", "how" , "where", "who"or "why". Ask your child what question they asked the Gingerbread Man.  We will continue reading variations of the story this coming week and discuss similarities and differences between them!                     Visual Art    Nutmeg, the Gingerbread Man, asked us to draw him some Gingerbread houses so that he had a place to stay.                 This Week in Kindergarten                      Literacy Literacy is everywhere in Kindergarten! Our morning soft entry activities range from 'Book Look' to 'Printing Practice'. Entry activities give students a familiar task to engage in as they arrive at school. These are tasks they can complete independently and give them a chance to connect with peers at the same time.               Numeracy- Patterns  Kindergarten friends have continued their work with patterns. We have worked on identifying, creating and extending simple and increasingly more complex patterns.
